National Park Kornati is an area of about 3000
km2 in the Middle Dalmatian and it consists of 89 islands, many islets and
cliffs scattered around the area. It is a paradise on the Adriatic Sea. The
name Kornati is derived from the Italian name Isole Incoronate, which means
crowned islands.
Organised tours to Kornati are available from many tourist resorts in Dalmatian as a special attraction for tourists. Tours usually consist of sailing through the archipelago, lunch break on the boat or in some small Kornati restaurant, swimming and sightseeing. Most of the islands are private property and some of them also have small villages. There are no hotels on the Kornati Islands, but tourists can spend the night in one of many coves that are designated for that purpose.
Some areas of the National Park are assigned for diving and snorkelling and also it is a favourite destination of sailors. The sea of Kornati is clear and in all shades of blue and the beaches are rocky with all kinds of forms. There are no words to describe that natural beauty. You have to experience it for yourself and you will not regret it.
